Can I use wordpress to design a website?

I have already purchased a domain name and am still looking at a hosting site for the website. I was wondering if I am able to use wordpress to design the website

You can definitely use WordPress to design almost any website you can think of.

As for hosting, Bluehost is the number one rated host for WordPress: http://www.bluehost.com/track/sbruner/

according to me, wordpress offers only blogging facilities.. that doesnot deal with webpages..
