Can you reformat SDHC cards to work in a Nikon D50? ?

By Tribbing Fan

My brother gave me 2 4GB SDHC cards for Christmas, not until after I took them out of the package and put in my camera and the CHR error come up did I realize they were SDHC cards. The Nikon D50 doesn’t support SDHC cards but I can’t do anything with the cards now. Is there a way to reformat them so they would work or am I stuck?

you’re stuck, unfortunately. On CF medias it’s easier to play then on sd. The only way to get away and use bigger capacity is to step to a micro sd card and get an adapter from SD to micro sd. Adapters override the limit since they do not contain any inforrmation on the media that is used.
I use a CF tp SD adapter to run 32 gigs in a simple Nikon 880 and it can make millions of shots on one card while CF capacity is limited to 512 mb on the 880.
