I bought a 4 GB SDHC card for my camera, and the transfer rate is slooooow using the USB cord…what up?

By Tribbing Fan

using my built in SD card reader on my laptop for my 2 GB card, the transfer rate is super fast. Since the lappy doesn’t read SDHC, I had to use the USB cable, but it took 15 minutes to transfer 1 GB of images. Will an SDHC card reader make the transfer faster? or should I return the 4 GB card. Thanks

Your are transferring a lot of image files to your computer at about 800 bps .. The more images, the longer it will take. It is just physics. When shooting and need to download images, I change cards and keep shooting with the other card does its thing.

If you think your 4GB card takes a long time to download, try using a 16GB card. I got to borrow one from a friend and it was cool just shooting and shooting and shooting, but I decided to keep my cards in the 2GB and 4GB range.
