What is the best width to design a website in HTML5 for optimal browser compatibility?
ByWe are creating an HTML5 & CSS3 site using Wordpress.
Any tips?
Max width for the ipad? Many people will soon be adopting this screen resolution as opposed to 1024X768… Any other recommendations about including Wordpress plugins, SEO tips?

I like to keep websites small and with a center-justified table layout. That’s the simple route. That way whatever size the screen is, your website will be floating in the middle. 1024 is still valid. Laptops are something like 1440×990.
I wouldn’t consider the ipad to be that big a deal, unless you are designing some sort of ipad users website. It occupies and will continue to occupy a very tiny share of web traffic.
Most people will be using laptops and desktops and some unexciting resolution… no more than an average of 1280×1024…. that’s a reasonable max in fact.
