What memory card should I use for Nikon Coolpix S series?
ByHi,
I just bought a Nikon Coolpix S series digital camera. There are lot of cards in the market like SD, SDHC,Memory stick Pro etc. Which one is ideal? What is the difference between SD and SDHC? Thanks.

Where in this pile did I place the owners manual, Oh there it is. The owners manual would actually tell you what type of memory card and also how to install the card into the camera.

It takes an SD (secure digital (under 2G)) or SDHC (secure digital high capacity (over 2G)) memory card. I would get a sandisk or transcend or kingston brand 2G or 4G class 6 card.
Memory stick is for sony cameras.

What ever is recommended in your owner’s manual will work best.

Nikon S series can use both SD (Max 2GB) and SDHC (High Capacity SD card – at least 4 GB & up). Class 2, Class 4 and Class 6 mean transfer data at least 2, 4 and 6MB per second
If you want fast transfer Class 6 is the best now.
Sandisk, Kingston, Transcend are good brand to get.
